Unleashing the Power of Facebook for Non-Profits

One look around on the train, at a restaurant, or in a mall, and we will most likely see at least one person scrolling through Facebook.

As an integral part of life for many of us today, the social network serves as a powerful tool not only for businesses to boost their profit, but for our civil society partner organisations (CSPOs) to further their impact. With the ability to connect with over 21 million Malaysians on the platform, it will enable our partners to build awareness and better engage with grassroot communities, volunteers, and stakeholders.

Understanding the potential of this tool, Hasanah has collaborated with Facebook to launch a new year-long social media training programme. With Facebook experts providing training sessions once every three months, our partners will be able to gain valuable insights from the pioneers of social media themselves.

At our first training session held today, we had almost 40 participants, comprising of the leads in the communications, social media, and digital departments of our partners.

Moving forward, the topics covered will include ‘Understanding Target Audiences’, ‘Goal Setting’, ‘Analysing Strategies versus Goals’, as well as how to effectively use Facebook’s tools to increase impact. We will also regularly check in with our partners to help ensure they are on the right track.
