Yayasan Hasanah calls for practitioners of arts, heritage, and culture seeking funding
KUALA LUMPUR, 9 June 2022 – Yayasan Hasanah (“Hasanah”), a foundation under
Khazanah Nasional Bhd (“Khazanah”), has opened applications for its Arts for All Seasons
(ArtsFAS) grant for this year, in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia.
A platform to showcase Malaysia’s preserved and conserved arts, heritage, and culture in a
public event, ArtsFAS aims to educate the younger generation and the larger community
through technology, knowledge exchange and art events, as well as conservation through
activation, to make arts accessible for all.
Last year, the impact-based foundation contributed RM1.68 million through the ArtsFAS
grant for programs throughout Malaysia, with a variety of showcases in nine states. Through
the programs it supported, ArtsFAS has generated economic opportunities for more than
1,300 arts practitioners, and reached more than 1 million people in the form of social media
viewers and on-site live participants.
Yayasan Hasanah Managing Director and Trustee Dato’ Shahira Ahmed Bazari said
“Yayasan Hasanah thanks the Ministry of Finance for an increase in funds this year as we
seek to reignite the arts, heritage, and cultural ecosystem that was deeply impacted by the
pandemic. This impact area aligns with our commitment in protecting and promoting our
cultural heritage and diversity,”
All recipients of the grant are expected to host their projects between September and
December 2022, with selected artists to be showcased during the CIMB Group’s ArtTober
event, as well as MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd’s RIUH events.
This is part of the TripART initiative, a public-private tripartite collaboration between Yayasan
Hasanah, CIMB Group and MyCreative Ventures, to assist the recovery of the arts, heritage,
and cultural ecosystem.
“We are looking forward to enabling more artists. We hope to see more proposals integrating
the use of technology this year, as we try to preserve more of our shared heritage as well as
widen the reach of these proposed initiatives and projects across the country. We want to
ensure that while we make the arts accessible through funding, the proposals should also
consider making art accessible for all.” Shahira said.
Those interested in applying for the ArtsFAS grant will have to undergo an eligibility
assessment. Eligible candidates will then receive a link to apply through a dedicated online
