Malaysian flood relief: Yayasan Hasanah partners with strategic humanitarian disaster response organisations

Kuala Lumpur, 23 Dec: Amidst the recent floods nationwide, Yayasan Hasanah, the impact-based foundation of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, has initiated a strategic partnership with five humanitarian disaster response organisations to expedite disaster relief to communities across the country that have been affected by floods.

The five humanitarian disaster response organisations are:

  1. Malaysian Relief Association (MRA)
  1. IMAM Response & Relief Team (IMARET)
  1. Malaysian Red Crescent Society
  1. Iltizam Relief Society
  1. Pertubuhan Komuniti HARAP

These identified organisations provide active and organised efforts in humanitarian response and are well-experienced in deploying aid in risk-prone areas in a timely and efficient manner.

Yayasan Hasanah Trustee and Managing Director, Dato’ Shahira Ahmed Bazari said, “In response to the major flash flood crisis in 2021, Yayasan Hasanah deployed RM6.55 million in funding for humanitarian and disaster relief assistance, through its implementing partners in affected areas. But most importantly, the experience has further demonstrated the critical need for stronger collaboration and teamwork, to ensure the right help gets to the right people – fast. This year, through proactive strategic collaborations such as these, we are ready to continue supporting disaster relief assistance to people in need more efficiently.”
