18 Sep 2024: Today, we had an incredibly insightful session titled “Raising the Social Floor” chaired by Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof, Chairman, Yayasan Hasanah and graced by YB Puan Lim Hui Ying , Deputy Minister of Finance, in partnership with the Ministry of Finance Malaysia. Over 40 individuals representing marginalised communities came together to discuss and strategize on promoting inclusive development in the nation.
Aligned with the values of Ekonomi MADANI’s “Memperkasa Rakyat”—which emphasise sustainability, care and compassion, respect, innovation, prosperity, and trust—this Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organised by Hasanah aimed to provide insights for the Budget 2025.
The main objective of the FGD consultations, with relevant stakeholders, was centered around issues in “raising the social floor” to ensure a quality and just life for all. Also discussed was the role of Social Enterprises in supporting sustainable interventions for the communities.

- Urban and Rural Low Income
- Orang Asal
- People with Disabilities (PWDs)
- Refugees and Stateless Individuals
- Migrant Workers
This Focus Group Discussion is a testament to our collective commitment to creating a more equitable and just society for all. Leveraging in the intersectional human rights issues, we aim to raise the social floor and ensure that no one is left behind. Together, we are making strides towards a more inclusive, progressive, and resilient Malaysia.
