Putra Heights, Selangor, 7 April 2025 — Following the tragic gas line explosion in Putra Heights on 2 April, which forced over 500 individuals to evacuate their homes, Yayasan Hasanah has swiftly mobilised humanitarian support to assist affected communities.
The explosion, which occurred on the second day of Syawal, led to a massive fire that affected hundreds of homes and vehicles. Affected communities have sought shelter in temporary relief centres.
Yayasan Hasanah, the foundation under Khazanah Nasional Berhad, has disbursed RM150,000 in emergency aid to MERCY Malaysia. This funding is targeted to support more than 400 individuals affected by the disaster.
The aid provided includes:
- Medical support
- Food supplies
- Hygiene kits
- Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Child-Friendly Activities (CFA) at the Temporary Evacuation Centre
Yayasan Hasanah is also working closely with its NGO partners on the ground to ensure timely and effective delivery of relief efforts.
At Hasanah, we pray for strength and safety for all those impacted, and for the tireless efforts of our humanitarian partners to be eased. We hope this assistance can bring some comfort and relief to those affected during this difficult time.
