About the Hasanah Social Enterprise Fund

Social enterprises play a crucial role in Malaysia, contributing to the country’s economic development, social well-being, and environmental sustainability. Malaysia, like many other nations face a range of complex challenges, and social enterprises have emerged as a powerful movement to address these challenges while fostering inclusive growth. Their role in Malaysia’s development is increasingly significant, and their impact across various sectors make them a vital part of the country’s present and future.

The Hasanah Social Enterprise Fund, an initiative funded by the Ministry of Finance in collaboration with Yayasan Hasanah, aim to provide social enterprises with support to become financially sustainable by overcoming barriers to scale their impact. Recognising the unique needs of businesses driven by social and environmental missions, the fund offers a range of options, from grants to zero-interest loans designed to provide seed and growth-stage funding that help social enterprises develop innovative solutions to social/environmental issues, create jobs, and contribute to the community.
