25 Oct 2024: Yayasan Hasanah had an insightful discussion with Antoine Gérard, Senior Humanitarian Advisor at the United Nations Office in New York for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA). Puan Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, Trustee and Managing Director of Yayasan Hasanah, along with the Yayasan Khazanah team and three Khazanah postgraduate scholars—Zafirah, Justin, and Irfan—joined the session to gain firsthand insights from Gérard’s extensive experience in global humanitarian efforts.
The conversation highlighted UNOCHA’s crucial role in coordinating responses to global crises, underlining the importance of developing future leaders prepared to address humanitarian challenges. In an another strategic meeting as we visit our Khazanah scholars New York, Yayasan Hasanah also seized the opportunity to engage with Khazanah Americas Incorporated (KAI), exploring ways to enhance professional opportunities for Khazanah scholars based in the U.S. This visit, attended by Puan Siti Kamariah Ahmad Subki, and the Yayasan Khazanah scholarship team, opened up discussions on internship placements and other career-boosting initiatives.

The conversation focused on how KAI’s impactful work in the U.S. could provide scholars with hands-on experience, industry insights, and vital networking opportunities. In addition to potential internship placements, they discussed inviting scholars to KAI’s key talks and conferences, creating opportunities for professional growth and development.
